For starters, here at Waterstones we are in love with The Great British Bake Off!
With the fourth series having started last week, the latest book which accompanies the series has arrived – ‘The Great British Bake Off Everyday’.
With 100 foolproof recipes on cakes, biscuits, breads, pastry and puddings, as well as profiles on this series’ brilliant bakers, and with £6 off! This is a must for amateur bakers.
Queen of baking Mary Berry has yet another delectable recipe book on our shelves; ‘At Home’ is a collection of favourite recipes spanning what must be one of the longest careers in cooking (and also has £4 off).
There is also the biography of the well-loved kichen guru, ‘Mary Berry: Queen of British Baking’.
Now for the main part. Cakes, bakes and barbeques might make for a great summer, but they don’t make for a svelte waistline ... but don’t despair.
With the success of ‘The Fast Diet’ and ‘5:2’, a whole host of other slimming aids have appeared.
Jason Vale a.k.a. ‘The Juice Master’ has returned with ‘Juice Yourself Slim’, which promises a “motivational juicing programme to super boost energy levels”, and includes his seven-day launch plan to drop an incredible half a stone.
If you’re looking for a long term fix, there’s nothing better than The Hairy Dieters, who have recently released their second low-calorie recipe book – ‘Eat For Life’, which has already made it into our bestsellers.
Between them, Si and Dave have lost an incredible six stones by re-inventing their favourite dishes using lower calorie alternatives. So if you really don’t want to give up the curries, kebabs and Chinese, then this is the holy grail of dieting.
To top it off ... ‘How Not to Get Old’, the book from the Channel Four series of the same name presented by Anna Richardson and Louise Redknapp and is packed with helpful hints on how to stay looking youthful for longer.
