Have your say

Sadly I have received notice of the deaths of two BB Stalwarts.

Jamie Meiklejohn was the elder son of the former Hon Battalion President Crawford Meiklejohn, MBE.

Jamie, who was much involved with the Brigade, succumbed after many years of illness.

Karin Deuchar was associated with 1st Denny & Dunipace Company for 30 years, where she became the Junior Section Officer in Charge.

The funerals of both officers took place on November 28; also the day that would have been Jamie’s 52nd birthday.

Our thoughts and prayers are with both families at this time of loss.

After a second round of keenly contested games at Grangemouth the result of the

Company Section senior 5-a-side football league has been decided. 2nd Church) were worthy winners and lost none of their twelve games and conceded only one goal! 8th Falkirk (Bainsford Church) and 1st Polmont (Brightons Church) were the next two of the seven teams taking part.

Gideon International whom you may have encountered with their donated Bibles in hotel rooms are offering to provide New Testaments to Company and Senior Section BB Boys. Any companies wishing to avail themselves of this generous offer should make approach to the Carronvale HQ. An excellent additional opportunity to bring the Good News of the Gospels closer to each boy.

Christmas pantomime season is again upon us. Oh yes it is! Younger BB Boys over the area will be there booing and hissing with best.

So far I know of 3rd Falkirk (Peoples Church) going to Falkirk Youth Theatre’s “Snow White” and 1st Falkirk (Grahamston United Church) and 1st Larbert (West Church) attending “Puss in Boots” in the Dobbie Hall. Watch out lads, that other company may be behind you!

Older boys also from 1st Falkirk will be celebrating at the Falkirk Megazone.
