POLICE CALL: Getting to the Core of community issues

Since September 4 this year, Falkirk officers have been engaged in Operation Core, tackling priorities highlighted by local people – drug supply, violence and road safety.

A number of properties in Falkirk, Grangemouth and Larbert were searched under drug warrants last week as part of our commitment to targeting drug dealing.

This weekend, as the Christmas party season enters its traditionally busy weekend, Operation Core officers will be deployed across the Falkirk area to ensure revellers have a safe and enjoyable night out.

Our advice is to be aware of your surroundings, the level of alcohol you consume and plan how you’re going to get home.

With your help, the job of police officers, ambulance crews, bar and restaurant staff, taxi and bus drivers will be made easier.

The festive drink drive campaign was also launched across Scotland last week.

If you’re planning a night out, it’s important to identify how you’re getting home.

Driving the car after drinking alcohol is not acceptable and there will be increased patrols throughout the festive period to detect those who take the chance. Please, don’t risk it.
