Looking for a new focus after weight loss journey

A Manchester United fan I knew once told me that, after the club secured a dramatic late victory over Bayern Munich in the 1999 Champions League, he stopped following them.

It may seem strange that he should abandon a team he had supported for years just as they achieved the ultimate accolade.

However, his explanation was that it couldn’t get any better than that night and watching run-of-the-mill league football again would always seem an anti-climax.

In a strange way I can relate to that this week.

Unfortunately, my team hasn’t won the Champions League, but I’ve achieved a goal that I’ve been working towards for the last six months.

I’ve become the incredible shrinking man as I’ve lost five stone and I finally reached my target on Monday.

The question is what do I do now.

Every week since my weight loss journey began, I’ve been focused on what loss the scales would reveal.

But now the pounds have been ticked off that’s all gone and trying to maintain my weight just doesn’t provide me with the same impetus.

However, maintain I must do ... especially now my old wardrobe has been thrown out!
