One of the great things about Funny in Falkirk is it attracts top comedians keen to try out their new shows before they begin their run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
But there are just as many stand-ups keen to play central Scotland’s comedy festival because they like the event – and love the crowds it attracts.
Des Clarke is a familiar face to comedy fans – as well as being a well-known voice thanks to his other job as a DJ and presenter on the Capital FM breakfast show.
The Glaswegian proved a hit at last year’s Funny in Falkirk, and was so taken with festival that he’s returning this year for a one-off show on Saturday, July 27.
“This is a Funny in Falkirk exclusive,” he said.
“Well, a Larbert exclusive, as I’m playing at the Dobbie Hall!
“I’m not on tour at the moment, I’m playing this show because I want to.
I played Funny in Falkirk last year and had a great time – the crowds here are really up for it, they give you great support.
“It’s for that reason that I made the express effort to ensure I would be back this year with a new show. I can’t wait.”
