Bill McCabe from Falkirk fondly remembers the Polmont Royal British Legion Club in Brightons.
The former member was part of the committee when it was forced to close its doors on May 21, 2006 for the last time.
Bill said: “As far as I can gather the club was an idea of some ex-servicemen back in the year 1948 and was a wooden hut when it was built.
“It carried on until 1962 when it was accepted as the Polmont and District Branch of the Royal British Legion Club.
“For more than 30 years it was run very successfully with everyone in the area attending various functions at some point in their lives be it a family event or a pool, darts or dominoes game.
“The regular dance nights in the seventies and sixties, eighties were really popular. I’m sure anyone who frequented the club over this time period would have a few great stories to tell.”
