THE COUPLE: Nicola (25) is from Denny and is a cash assistant at the Shell petrol station in Camelon and Paul (26) is from Camelon and is a profit protection manager for Shell in Fife. The couple live in Camelon with their daughter Emma (5), a pupil at Denny Primary School.
HOW THEY MET: They met in Behind the Wall in 2010 through friends.
THE PROPOSAL: Paul whisked Nicola off to the Dakota Hotel in Edinburgh for a romantic evening and popped the question in the hotel room, with a ring he’d chosen himself.
THE WEDDING: The couple were married on July 4, 2014, at the Hilcroft Hotel in Whitburn. There were 50 guests during the day and a further 30 at night. Nicola said: “The entire day was perfect and even better than we’d hoped.”
THE WEDDING PARTY: Best man was Paul’s brother Scott Daly and maid of honour was Nicola’s mum Julie Paton. The couple’s daughter Emma and Nicola’s cousin Sarah (9) were flower girls.
THE DRESS: Nicola chose an ivory and red Alfred Angelo design. The strapless dress was one of the first Nicola tried on and she immediately fell for it. She said: “I wanted something different from what everyone else goes for. The theme for the wedding was red, with the flowergirls in ivory and red and my mum in red too.”
THANKS: The couple wish to thank both sets of parents for making the day possible and to Scott for being the best man.
HONEYMOON: The family went to Newcastle and Berwick-upon-Tweed for a break and are hoping to get abroad in the new year for a longer honeymoon.
