Neighbour launches petition to save Denny pub

A PETITION has been launched to try to save a pub threatened with closure.

Plans are in place to turn the popular Denny pub into shops. A planning

application has already been submitted to Falkirk Council.

The Pines in Fleming Court has been serving customers for almost 40

years.

But if planners give recently submitted proposals the go-ahead it

will be replaced by a Nisa mini-market with space created for two additional retail units.

The building is owned by Glasgow-based company Eadie Cairns and leased to the current landlord.

An agreement has been reached in which the firm will sell the property to retailers Stephen and Louise Carr if the plans are approved.
