A HEARTLESS dog owner abandoned a severely under-fed collie on the street.

The female black and white border collie was found by a member of the public in Middlefield Road, Falkirk, on March 23.

The dog, which is thought to be less than 18 months old, weighed just 10 kg when she was discovered - half the weight of a healthy animal.

Scottish SPCA Inspector Leanne McPake said: “She is small for her age, probably due to malnutrition. Her owner obviously didn’t care for her as they have not provided an adequate diet and then abandoned her.

“We are keen to find whoever owned her and we hope someone will recognise her as she has very distinctive blue eyes.”

The dog is now being cared for by SSPCA staff, who have named her Teil.

Anyone with information regarding Teil should call the SSPCA on 03000 999 999.
