those serving abroad in the Armed Forces look forward to a warm welcome when they return home - and from this week they’ll be guaranteed one at East Stirlingshire.

The club have become the first in Scotland to allow all serving soldiers, navy and RAF personnel free admission to every home game.

The scheme is the brainchild of club director Tony Ford, a retired former naval officer.

“It may seem a small gesture but having served for more than 30 years myself and seeing it first hand, I think anything we can do to honour the dedication and bravery of our forces is important.”

Tony launched the initiative yesterday (Wednesday) alongside Lance Corporal Steven Pattamore of the Royal Mechanical & Electrical Engineers and Private Allister Stewart of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, who are based at Stirling barracks.
