Salvation Army

A very warm welcome awaits you at Maddiston Salvation Army. Sunday Worship is at 10.30 a.m. in the Salvation Army Centre, Main Street, Maddiston, FK2 0LU. The weekly programme is Tuesday – Lunch Club 12.30 p.m. (a two course meal plus tea/coffee and biscuits for £3 – everyone welcome), Ladies Meeting 2 p.m., Kids Club (5 to 12-year-olds), 5.30 p.m. (restarts on October 28); Thursday – Parent and Toddlers, 9.30 a.m., Prayer and Bible Study, 6 p.m. Friday - Parent and Toddlers, 9.30 a.m. and monthly on a Saturday evening there is a special event as advertised. We are always looking to develop our programme and are looking for volunteers.Arrangements are now finalised for the anniversary weekend, November 22-23. Our Special Guest is Major John Houston. On Saturday, November 22 at 7 p.m. will be a Musical Programme led by Shotts Songsters, followed by refreshments. There is no charge for the concert, but an offering will be taken towards the work of the Salvation Army. Everyone is welcome. This Sunday our Service will be led by our Minister, Envoy David Robertson.

Golf Club

A domino competition continues every Sunday afternoon at the Manuelrigg Premises when a ‘Coo Pie’ can be won.

Community Centre

Maddiston Community Centre events over the next week include - Thursday: Giggles Toddlers Group,

1-3 p.m.; Ju Jitsu, 7-8.30 p.m. Friday: Community Café, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. (come along have a cuppa and something to eat meet other members of the community); Credit Union, 10 a.m.-noon. Monday: Citizens Advice Bureau (appointment to be made and can be held at centre). Tuesday: Giggles (toddlers group), 9.30-11.30 a.m.; The Family History Group meet every second and fourth Tuesday of the month, 10 a.m.-noon; Ju-Jitsu, 7–8.30 p.m. We have a job club from 12.30-3 p.m., please contact the centre for further information. Wednesday: Fast Track IT class is being held from 9.30 a.m.-noon (call 501696 for information). We also have an IT suite for public use for internet access, e-mail access, filling in online forms, job searches homework and printing/copying. Camera Club

Anyone with an interest in taking photographs, or photography generally, is invited to attend the above club when it meets every Wednesday in The Braes Children and Family Centre in Forgie Crescent from 7 - 8.30 p.m. The group, which has changed name to Braes Camera Club, has operated for some time at the site and the organisers would be happy to welcome new members.

Muiravonside Church

Last Sunday, morning service at 11.30 a.m. in Muiravonside Parish Church was conducted by our minister, Rev. Louise McClements. Assisting in the service was Mrs Amanda McQuarrie. During the Intimations a warm welcome was given to Mrs Jacqueline Dignan who was our Organist for the service. Anyone interested in receiving a copy of the Morning service on CD please contact Jackie Napier.The boxes are still available in church for any donations towards the Falkirk Foodbank and the Falkirk Homeless project. This Sunday morning service is at the usual time of 11.30 a.m. and will be conducted by the minister. There will be tea/coffee served after this service, come along and enjoy the fellowship of the occasion. The ‘Sunday Club’ resumes this Sunday. On Saturday in Falkirk Trinity Church, there will be a Coffee Morning from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. This will be run by the Muiravonside elders and members. A soup lunch is also available and there will be goods/crafts stalls. All monies raised will be in aid of Muiravonside Parish Church. So why not come along that Saturday and enjoy the function and give the organisers your fullest support.

Prize Bingo

Old Folks Association are holding a Prize Bingo in the hall on Thursday, November 13. Eyes down at 7.30 p.m. Entry fee is only £1 which includes tea and biscuits. Please bring your own cup. There are many lovely prizes to be won including bedding, steam mop, towels and many more. There will also be an extra flyer for a 40-inch colour television £1. Everyone welcome.

Credit Union

Savings are safe with Falkirk District Credit Union and low cost loans are available once regular savings established. Anyone who lives or works in the area within the boundary of Falkirk Council can join, junior savers welcome. Evangelical Church

The Youth Club will take place on Friday, from 7.30-9.30 p.m. in Maddiston Community Centre. All S1-6 welcome. Sunday services start at 10 a.m. with communion followed by the Family Service at 11.30 a.m. The guest speaker will be Paul Ford from Stirling. The Sunbeam Singers from Larbert will also take part. Children and young teens can leave the service and go into their own groups at noon, Discovery Club Extra, Creche and Youth Bible Group. The evening service is at 6.30 p.m when there will be Bible Teaching from Jamie McKerlie from Glasgow. He will speak especially to teens and young people about “Everybody’s Doing It - Youth Peer Pressure”. The parent and toddler group will be on Monday at 9.30 a.m. The Discovery Group will meet at 6.30 p.m. The Ladies Hour meets on Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. when the Deaf action Choir led by Mary McDevitt will be performing. There will also be a sale of Christmas Cards and gifts that night on behalf of the Falkirk Christian Bookshop. The prayer meeting will take place on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m.
