Evangelical Church

The Youth Club meet on Friday, from 7.30 till 9 p.m. in the Maddiston Community Centre. All S1-6 youth welcome. The Family Service is on Sunday at 11.30 a.m. and the guest speaker will be Eric Scott Snr from Edinburgh. Children and young teens can go into their own groups - Discovery Club Extra, Creche and Youth Bible Club at noon. The evening service is at 6.30 p.m. when there will be Bible teaching from Ian Naismith. Everyone welcome to these services. The Parent and Toddler Group meets on Monday at 9.30 a.m. and the Discovery Club at 6.30 p.m. for P2-7. This will be the end of session prizegiving. Come along and support the children and be available to give a friendly welcome to others who will attend. The prayer meeting is on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m.

Credit Union

Savings are safe with Falkirk District Credit Union and low cost loans are available once regular savings established. Anyone who lives or works in the area within the boundary of Falkirk Council can join, junior savers welcome. Salvation Army

A warm welcome awaits you at Maddiston Salvation Army. Morning Worship is every Sunday at 10.30 a.m. in the Salvation Army Centre, Main Street, Maddiston. The weekly programme is as follows: Tuesday - Lunch Club, 12.30 p.m.; Ladies’ Meeting, 2 p.m.; Kids Club (5 - 12 year olds), 5.30 p.m. Thursday - Parent & Toddlers, 9.30 a.m.; Bible Study, 6 p.m. Friday - Parent and Toddlers, 9.30 a.m. All welcome. For further information contact (01324) 711973. The organisation is looking to develop our programme and is always looking for volunteers.

Camera Club

Anyone with an interest in taking photographs, or photography generally, is invited to attend the above club when it meets every Wednesday in The Braes Children and Family Centre in Forgie Crescent from 7 - 8.30 p.m. The group, which has changed name to Braes Camera Club, has operated for some time at the site and the organisers would be happy to snap up some new members.

Golf Club

The club has arranged another cabaret/disco evening and it will go ahead on April 5 from 8.30 p.m.-1.a.m. Sharon Ross performs and tickets, priced £3, can be obtained from Tam Forsyth or Zander or at the bar. Tickets are required as there will be no entry at the door on the night. A domino competition goes ahead every Sunday in the Manuelrigg premises at 4 p.m. All are welcome and winners can look forward to the first prize of a Coo Pie.

Community Council

Maddiston Community Council is holding a public meeting tonight (Thursday) to discuss the way ahead in the village and how we can progress a number of challenging projects for the benefit of the village. Concern has been expressed by some residents at the delay in publishing the village action plan which is in the hands of the council while of a more immediate importance are the complaints about litter and dog fouling. The next Community Council meeting, which will be held on April 3, includes a presentation by Scottish Water on the standard of sewage, drainage and water supply in the Braes - all are welcome to attend this meeting.

Muiravonside Church

Last Sunday, morning service in Muiravonside Parish Church was conducted by Amanda McQuarrie. During the intimations a warm welcome was given to Jacqueline Dignan who was our organist for the service. Anyone interested in receiving a CD of the service, contact Jack Napier. Falkirk Foodbank and the Falkirk Homeless Project - there are boxes in Church for your donations to both of these projects. Our Church is now registered with Falkirk Foodbank. If you, as members, know of anyone in the parish who would benefit from food parcels, then please give their names to the Minister. This Sunday, morning service will be conducted by the Minister, Reverend Louise McClements. The Sunday Club meets at the same time. The A.S.M. will take place in Church immediately after this Service. Please stay for this very important meeting.
