The Youth Club meets on Friday from 7.30 - 9 p.m in Maddiston Community Centre. All S1-6 youth welcome. Sunday services start at 10 a.m. with Communion. The family service is at 11.30 a.m. when the speaker will be Peter Hinshelwood from Wishaw. The soloist will be Lynn Holleran from Grangemouth. Children and young teens can go into their own groups at noon, Discovery Club Extra, Creche and Youth Bible Group. The evening service will be at 6.30 p.m. when there will be Bible teaching from Stephen McQuaid from Bellshill. The parent and toddler group takes place on Monday at 9.30 a.m. The Discovery Group meets at 6.30 p.m. The Ladies Hour is on Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. The speaker will be Cheryll Bremner from Grangemouth who will speak on ‘Compassion’. The prayer Meeting is on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m.
Events and activities on at Maddiston Community Centre for today and the next week include; Today (Thursday) Giggles Toddlers meet 12.30–2.30 p.m.; the Kempo Ju-Jitsu club is on 7–9 p.m.; On Friday the Credit Union will be open 10 a.m.–noon; the Community Café is open 8.45 a.m.–1 p.m.; the Youth Club meets 7-9 p.m. On Monday the Personal Development Group will meet from 9.30–11.30 a.m. (call 01324 720960 for information); On Tuesday the Giggles Group will meet 9.30–11.30 a.m.; Kempo Ju-Jitsu meet 7-9 p.m; On Wednesday the child-minding group meets 9.30–11.30 a.m. and a Fast Track IT class is held from 9.30–11.30 a.m. (call 501696 for information). We also have an IT suite for public use for internet access, e-mail access, filling in online forms, job searches, homework and printing/copying. A domino competition goes ahead at the Manuelrigg premises every Sunday afternoon when the winner can pick up a coo pie.
The Braes SNP is holding a fundraising Ladies’ Night in Reddingmuirhead Community Centre tonight (Thursday) at 7.30 p.m. A beautician, medium and nail technician will be present as well as a Zumba exhibition, jewellery and fancy household goods stalls. There will be much, much more to enjoy at the event and all are welcome.
Last Sunday, morning service in Muiravonside Parish Church was conducted by our Minister Rev. Louise McClements. During the Intimations a warm welcome was given to Mrs Jacqueline Dignan on return as our ‘organist’ for the service. This Sunday, the service in Muiravonside Parish Church will commence at the usual time of 11.30 a.m. and will be conducted by Rev. Louise McClements. The ‘Sunday Club’ meets at the same time. This Sunday there will be a cup of tea or coffee after the service for a time of further friendship amongst us. Boxes are still available in church for your donations towards both the Falkirk Foodbank and the Falkirk Homeless Project. If anyone is interested in receiving a copy of Sunday Services for someone who is unable to attend church, then see Jackie Napier after the service. Thanks go to all who organised, donated to, helped at and attended the Beetle Drive last Tuesday evening - £212 was raised for church funds. We are always looking to develop our programme and are looking for volunteers. The weekly programme is: Mondays: 2 p.m. – Prayer and Bible Study; 6.30 p.m. - Songsters (Choir). Tuesdays: 12.30 p.m. – Lunch Club, two-course meal plus tea/coffee & biscuits (£3); 2 p.m. - Home League (Ladies Meeting); 5.30 p.m. – Kidz Club. Thursdays: 9.30 a.m. - Parent and Toddlers. Fridays: 9.30 a.m. - Parent and Toddlers; 5.45 p.m. – Praise Group; 6.30 p.m. - Band. We have organised an all-aged singing group to raise money for schools, hospitals, Water Aid and other projects in third world countries. It will perform at our coffee morning on Saturday, March 7 (10 a.m.–noon). We are rehearsing at 6.15–6.45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3. Everyone is welcome to join our group, the more, the better. Maddiston Primary School Parents Staff Associaion is holding a quiz night in Polmont Golf Club to raise money for the primary school children on Friday, March 20. The quiz night will commence at 7.30 p.m. for an 8 p.m. start and there will be a disco afterwards. Please bring your own nibbles. Maximum numbers for teams are six and the cost will be £5 a head. There will be prizes for the quiz winners and we will have a cash quiz on the night. Please come along and support the school and have a fun night out.
