Community Centre

Events and activities on at Maddiston Community Centre for today and the next week include; Today (Thursday) Giggles Toddlers meet 12.30–2.30 p.m.; the Kempo Ju-Jitsu club is on 7–9 p.m.; On Friday the Credit Union will be open 10 a.m.–noon; the Community Café is open 8.45 a.m.–1 p.m.; the Youth Club meets 7-9 p.m. On Monday the Personal Development Group will meet from 9.30–11.30 a.m. (call 01324 720960 for information); On Tuesday the Giggles Group will meet 9.30–11.30 a.m.; Kempo Ju-Jitsu meet 7-9 p.m; On Wednesday the child-minding group meets 9.30–11.30 a.m. and a Fast Track IT class is held from 9.30–11.30 a.m. (call 501696 for information). We also have an IT suite for public use for internet access, e-mail access, filling in online forms, job searches, homework and printing/copying. Golf Club

A domino competition goes ahead at the Manuelrigg premises every Sunday afternoon when the winner can pick up a coo pie.

Muiravonside Church

Last Sunday, morning service in Muiravonside Parish Church was conducted by our Minister Rev. Louise McClements. During the intimations a warm welcome was given to Mr Ritchie on return as our organist for the service. This Sunday, the service in Muiravonside Parish Church will commence at the usual time of 11.30 a.m. and will be conducted by Rev. Louise McClements. The ‘Sunday Club’ meets at the same time. This Sunday there will be a cup of tea or coffee after the service for a time of further friendship amongst us. Boxes are still available in church for your donations towards both the Falkirk Foodbank, and the Falkirk Homeless Project. If anyone is interested in receiving a copy of Sunday Service for someone who is unable to attend church, then see Jackie Napier after the service.

Salvation Army

A very warm welcome awaits you at Maddiston Salvation Army, anyone is welcome to attend any of our activities. Sunday Worship is at 10.30 a.m. in the Salvation Army Centre, Main Street, Maddiston, FK2 0LU. For further information contact (01324) 711793. We are always looking to develop our programme and are looking for volunteers. The weekly programme is now back to normal - Mondays: 2 p.m. – Prayer and Bible Study; 6.30 p.m. - Songsters (Choir). Tuesdays: 12.30 p.m. – Lunch Club, two-course meal plus tea/coffee & biscuits (£3); 2 p.m. - Home League (Ladies Meeting); 5.30 p.m. – Kidz Club. Thursdays: 9.30 a.m. - Parent and Toddlers. Fridays: 9.30 a.m. - Parent and Toddlers; 6 p.m. – Praise Group; 6.30 p.m. - Band. We have organised an all-aged singing group to raise money for schools, hospitals, Water Aid and other projects in third world countries. It will perform at our coffee morning on Saturday, March 7 (10 a.m.–noon). We are rehearsing at 6.15–6.45 p.m. on Tuesdays, February 17 and 24 and March 3. Everyone is welcome to join our group, the more, the better. Further information is available from us. Next Sunday the service will be led by our Minister, Envoy David Robertson.

Credit Union

Savings are safe with Falkirk District Credit Union and low cost loans are available once regular savings established. Anyone who lives or works in the area within the boundary of Falkirk Council can join, junior savers welcome. Planning Applications

Mr Alex Marrs has applied for planning consent from Falkirk Council to replace an existing roof and build at 12 Forgie Crescent and replace a roof and build an extension at 14 Forgie Crescent, Maddiston.

Evangelical Church

The Youth Club will meet on Friday from 7.30-9 p.m. in Maddiston Community Centre. All S1-6 youth welcome. Sunday services start at 10 a.m. with Communion. The Family Service is at 11.30 a.m. when the speaker will be Willie Glen from Motherwell. The Praise band will also be taking part. Children and young teens can go into their own groups at noon, Discovery Club Extra, Creche and Youth Bible Group. The Evening service will be at 6.30 p.m. when there will be Bible teaching from David Campbell from Brightons. The parent and toddler group will take place on Monday at 9.30 a.m. The Discovery Group will meet at 6.30 p.m. The Men’s Fellowship meets on Tuesday at 2.15 p.m. The speaker will be Alistair Horne from Falkirk. The Prayer Meeting is on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m.
