Ten men are due to appear from custody at Falkirk Sheriff Court today following violent clashes in Camelon on Saturday afternoon.

They are alleged to have taken part in a pre-arranged fight ahead of the Falkirk v Raith Rovers league game at Westfield, which the Bairns went on to win 3-1.

Two gangs - calling themselves the ‘Falkirk Fear’ and ‘Raith Under Fives’ - clashed at Lock 16, near the Union Inn.

The Falkirk Herald understands that around 40-50 people were involved, and several were injured as a result.

A number of individuals who claimed to have knowledge of the clash posted bragging messages on social networking websites in the hours after the incident, with several claiming “victory” for their respective side.

Several messages were exchanged between rival sides promising a “re-match” in Kirkcaldy the next time Falkirk play Raith.

A picture was also posted which appears to show members of the Falkirk Fear brandishing a captured Raith Under Fives banner.

A spokesman for Police Scotland told The Falkirk Herald that investigations were continuing to find the others that were involved in the incident.

Anyone with information regarding the trouble should call police on 101.
