A section of Beancross Road in Grangemouth re-opened yesterday after being closed to traffic since March.

Motorists were able to use the stretch of road from John Weir Mercedes garage to the Earls Gate Park roundabout for the first time in over four months as Network Rail completed its work to raise the rail bridge.

Part of the firm’s £38 million project to upgrade the Edinburgh to Glasgow to facilitate the future electrification of the route, the works finished two weeks ahead of schedule.
