The main road through Denny town centre remains closed this morning following a serious fire that broke out in a third floor tenement flat.

The property in Stirling Street, close to Barbers Ink tattoo studios, was reported to be ablaze shortly after 3 p.m. yesterday.

Appliances from Falkirk, Larbert and Linlithgow fire stations were in attendance, with the last departing at 11 p.m.

The blaze quickly spread to the roof of the building, leading to the evacuation of neighbouring properties.

There were no reported injuries.

Traffic along Stirling Street is currently being diverted via Duke Street.

A meeting between police, fire and council officers will take place at 10 a.m. this morning to decide when Stirling Street can re-open to traffic once the building has been made safe.
