A Dunipace grandmother remains in hospital this week after suffering serious head injuries.
Liz Leonard (62) was found at her home in Milton Row on Thursday, September 12, and is now being treated at the Western General in Edinburgh.
Due to the significant nature of her injuries, Police Scotland launched an immediate investigation into the circumstances.
Local residents told The Falkirk Herald that more than 30 officers, including CID, descended on the village to make enquiries.
This week, Police Scotland said it was not in a postition to confirm whether or not an assault had taken place or if there was no suspicious circumstances regarding how Ms Leonard obtained her injuries.
A spokesman said: “Police in Forth Valley Division are investigating after a 62-year-old woman was found with a head injury in Milton Row, Dunipace.
“She was taken to hospital where she continues to be treated.
“Enquiries into the full circumstances surrounding this incident are ongoing and anyone who can assist officers with their investigation is asked to come forward immediately.”
