Motorists should expect delays this weekend with roadworks on one of the country’s busiest motorways.
Resurfacing works will be carried out on the southbound M9 at Falkirk, between Junction 7 (Kinnaird House) and Junction 5 (Cadgers Brae).
Work starts at 8 p.m. tomorrow and the road should reopen by 6 a.m. on Monday.
A contra-flow traffic management system and speed limit of 40 mph will be in place for the duration of the works with one lane in operation for each direction of traffic.
In addition, junction 6 (Earlsgate) southbound slip road will be closed for the duration of the works and diversion in place.
This section of road is used by around 22,500 vehicles each day.
Ian Stewart from BEAR Scotland said: “These works are being carried out over the weekend, when traffic flows are lower, to minimise disruption to motorists. However, we would encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance where possible.”
