A private meeting has been arranged for tomorrow to discuss concerns over smells from slurry and waste in rural areas.

Falkirk East MSP Angus MacDonald has called stakeholders such as community councils, SEPA, Falkirk Council and a local business, which deals with waste at its sites, together at Slamannan Community Centre to find a way forward over the issues of human and other waste being treated at various sites in the Braes area.

Mr MacDonald said: “I have recently met with McCaig Farms to discuss the concerns of local residents, which is why I have called a private meeting with the regulators, including SEPA, Falkirk Council as well as local councillors and representatives from local community councils.

“We hope to get round the table and hopefully find a way forward that is to everyone’s satisfaction.”
