Stunned shoppers watched as a man was attacked in Falkirk’s busy High Street.

The serious assault took place outside the main entrance to the Howgate shopping centre around 2.45 p.m. today.

Police rushed to the scene and immediately cordoned off the area around the main entrance.

The victim was treated for a head injury before being taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

Last night, a spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Enquires are ongoing but a man has been detained.”
