A fire at a takeaway restaurant in Dunipace led to the temporary closure of a busy main street on Tuesday.

Two appliances from Larbert were called out to deal with a blaze at 3.47 p.m. at the Chilli Hut, a long-established Indian eatery in Stirling Street.

The Scottish Fire & Rescue Service reported that the fire was under control and in no danger of escalation at 4.52 p.m.

Stirling Street was closed to traffic from 4.10-6.10 p.m.

The cause of the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
