A flood in a health centre forced patients to be evacuated on Thursday morning.

Parts of a suspended ceiling collapsed in Polmont’s Meadowbank Health Centre after water leaked through the roof.

Patients and staff had to be from the central part of the building near the waiting area when the ceiling tiles crumbled and fell. No injuries were reported.

The area was closed off and the surgery remained open while workers started repairing the damage.

One staff member said: “There was a flood due to the water that came through the roof which caused a small number of tiles to fall off.

“People were moved out of the affected area as, obviously, it wasn’t safe. We are running as normal at the moment.”
