A man was assaulted and had his car stolen while he sat in it at the weekend.
The 33-year-old, who is believed to run a business in Shieldhill, was attacked in the area last Friday between 10 - 11 p.m. He did not sustain any serious injuries, but his car is still missing.
Detective Inspector Kevin Carr, who is leading the investigation, said: “Officers from Forth Valley Division are carrying out enquiries in the Shieldhill area following a report of a 33-year-old man having been assaulted on Friday, January 24.
“His vehicle was also stolen from him. Door to door enquiries are being carried out in the area.”
The DI added: “In addition, we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the victim’s silver VW Caddy van, which was in the Shieldhill area and also in the Baillieston area of Glasgow that evening.”
Police are appealing for information form anyone who may have seen a parked white 4x4 vehicle in the area on Friday.
DI Carr said: “At this time the vehicle remains untraced. We are appealing to anyone in Shieldhill and Slamannan community who saw anything unusual to contact us on 101 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
