Police and ambulance personnel attended the scene

Two women were taken to hospital on this morning following a road accident in Grangemouth.

The incident happened at the junction of Salmon Inn Road and the A9 and involved a silver Suzuki car and a blue Mazda.

The 61-year-old woman driver of the Mazda and a 51-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Suzuki were taken to Forth Valley Hospital for treatment of what was described as non-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Suzuki, the 52-year-old husband of the passenger, was uninjured.

Police have said there will be no report to the Procurator Fiscal.
