Tamfourhill regeneration gets massive support

THE PUBLIC has given a massive thumbs up to plans which will transform an industrial area next to the Forth and Clyde Canal.

In 2008, Falkirk Council and British Waterways Scotland unveiled an initiative to redevelop 40 acres in Tamfourhill next to the waterway with homes, industry and leisure.

After weeks of community consultation, it was revealed upwards of 93 per cent of those responding had total support for the project.

A planning applicaton is likely to be lodged this summer and, if approved, a joint venture development partner could be sought early next year.

On Tuesday, members of the economic strategy and development committee were given the results of the regeneration masterplan survey which took place through mailshots, posters, workshops and public presentations.
