Tributes have been paid to an autistic teenager who died suddenly while on holiday.

Phillip Collins (14), from Stenhousemuir, was on holiday with his mum and three sisters Alanah (19), Cara (8) and Hayleigh (7) at the Camping and Caravanning Club in Scone when the tragedy happened last Friday.

It’s understood he died after falling and hitting his head while climbing a fence at the neighbouring Perth Racecourse.

Paramedics tried for an hour to revive him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Parents Marie Love and Allan Collins were too upset to speak about their loss.

A close family friend said: “Despite having autism he lived life to the full. He was a happy boy who laughed all the time and brightened up all our lives. He was a joy to be around and we will all miss him terribly.”

Head teacher of St Mungo’s High School Stephen Phee said: “Phillip was a warm, open, honest and genuine young man.

“He worked hard at school and had his whole life ahead of him. He will be greatly missed.”

His funeral will be held on Tuesday at St Bernadette’s Church, Larbert, at 9.45 a.m.
