A spate of spare wheels being stolen from cars has sparked a police plea.

The most recent theft occurred between noon on Saturday, June 30, and the same time on Tuesday, July 3, in River Street in Bainsford when a white Ford Transit van was targeted.

It is valued at a three-figure sum.

A Central Scotland Police spokeswoman said: “Since January there have been 17 reports of spare wheels being stolen in the Falkirk area.

‘‘We are urging van owners to be wary where they park their vans and take extra security measures to avoid this happening.”
