Ronan Keating will perform at The Falkirk Stadium on June 21.

Irish singing star Ronan Keating has been announced as the headlining act for the opening night of Rock the Stadium.

The 35-year-old, who first found fame as part of the internationally successful group Boyzone, will perform at Westfield on Friday, June 21.

Keating has sold a combined total of 45 million singles and albums, and holds a Guinness World Record for contributing to 30 consecutive songs that reached the top ten of the UK chart.

He said: “I am really excited to be performing at the Falkirk Stadium this summer - I love playing outdoors in these great venues.

“What makes it more exciting, and something magical, is playing to a Scottish audience.”

Keating will perform a set mixing solo hits such as ‘When You Say Nothing At All’ and ‘Life Is A Rollercoaster’ with some classic Boyzone songs.

Also playing live on the first night of the Rock the Stadium will be Brian McFadden, a former member of Westlife and now a major solo artist, and James Walsh, who gained attention as the songwriting star behind cult indie band Starsailor.

Andy Thomson, director of events at Falkirk Football Club, said: “Everyone on the Rock the Stadium team had massive smiles on their faces today. Attracting someone of Ronan’s quality and stature is a major achievement and we can’t wait to hear him live at the Falkirk Stadium in what is sure to be a sell-out crowd.

“We have worked hard to bring the best musical talent to Falkirk and Ronan Keating and his band are sure to get the weekend off to a great start.”

Tickets for the concert on June 21 will go on sale this Friday from 9 a.m. at www.ticketline.co.uk.
