The future looks bright for thousands of youngsters as the district celebrates a great week for education.

Pupils from across the area received their exam results this week and ‘A’ was the magic letter for the best and the brightest.

Some of the district’s highest achieving pupils gathered in front of Falkirk’s Municipal Chambers to mark their success.

Christopher Whitton of Falkirk High School, and Peter Wood of Graeme High School were joined by Ruth Adams and Jamie Weir of Larbert High. They all achieved straight As at band one level in their Highers.

Councillor Alan Nimmo, education convener, said: “The overall results from our schools in 2012 demonstrate Falkirk Council’s ongoing drive to improve attainment.

“They reflect the hard work and commitment of our young people, teaching staff and the whole school community.”
