Police warning as bank card skimming devices found in Larbert and Falkirk

A man who fell victim to an ATM card skimming device in Larbert then had a four-figure sum removed from his account.

Police are now urging people to be on their guard when using cash machines, following several reports of card skimming devices being found on ATMs, including one machine in Main Street, Larbert.

The machine is thought to have been targeted three times between Friday, July 6, and Friday, July 13 and another “hole-in-the-wall” machine in Garrison Place, Falkirk, is also believed to have been tampered with.

Central Scotland Police stated: “We urge those using cash machines to be aware of anything which looks out of place or loose. Also when keying in your pin number, make sure you shield this.

“If you have any suspicions about the cash machine you are using, report this immediately.”
