Police investigating cause of Bainsford explosion

Police have reassured residents that there is no threat to public safety following reports of an explosion yesterday evening.

The incident took place around 8.30 p.m. in the Bainsford area.

Following multiple reports from members of the public, Central Scotland Police are now investigating its cause.

The Falkirk Herald understands that the apparent explosion was likely caused by misadventure and was not the result of a serious industrial accident.

There are no reports of injuries relating to the incident.

Anyone with information should call police on the non-emergency national hotline by dialling 101.
