Police hunt Grangemouth bag snatcher

AN ELDERLY woman’s handbag was stolen from her home by a bogus caller on Monday.

The incident happened at 3.15 p.m. at a house in Newhouse Street, Grangemouth, when a man called on the 74-year-old and offered to carry out roof and garden work. After he left she noticed her handbag containing her purse and other personal belongings had been taken.

Police are keen to trace the man who appeared at her house. He is described as aged between 21 and 40-years-old, 5ft 10ins tall, stocky build with fair or blond short hair. He was wearing a red, white and pink lumberjack style jacket or shirt, dark jeans or trousers and sandy coloured boots.

He was seen getting into a green coloured pick-up truck.
