No Children’s Day rain but waterlogged park forces switch

Waiting for Video...

The rain actually stayed away for much of Grangemouth Children’s Day, but Bowhouse Primary School’s Emma Reddie was still crowned indoors as waterlogged Zetland Park struggled to recover from heavy downpours the night before.

The wind was blowing hard as the procession moved along Kingseat Avenue on Saturday afternoon and the clouds rolled in.

Many onlookers must have feared the worst but the weather stayed dry for the most part.

More coverage of the event will appear in this week’s Falkirk Herald.
