The long-running tanker drivers’ dispute is over after a deal was agreed.
Revised terms and conditions were brokered with conciliation service Acas, which members of the Unite union narrowly voted to accept.
Drivers from seven haulage firms backed the deal by 51 per cent overall, while those from four of the companies voted to reject it.
Unite said the vote left no room for “complacency” and called for quick implementation of proposals.
Diana Holland, assistant general secretary, said: “It is in everyone’s interest to bring order to the chaos gripping a vital industry through the introduction of industry wide minimum standards.”
