Men charged with making bogus calls after OAP left traumatised
Three men up in court in connection with crime spree in the Denny area.
The men, aged 25, 24 and 20, were apprehended by police after 13 homeowners were targeted last Wednesday and Thursday in Denny and Bonnybridge.
The men have all been charged in connection with assault, theft, intended theft and a robbery in which a 76-year-old woman was the victim.
Homes in Wheatlands Avenue, Hope Park Terrace, and Claremont Street, all in Bonnybridge; and four homes in Blaefaulds Crescent, a house in Randolph Gardens and one in Bulloch Crescent, all in Denny, were targeted.
Many residents in Denny and Bonnybridge noticed a heightened police presence in the area on Thursday evening.
It is understood that police dog handlers were deployed to help catch the suspects.
Police are still appealing for anyone who may have had men calling at their homes offering to carry out work to come forward.
