The Face of Falkirk 2012 is high school student Kayleigh Harley.

The 17-year-old Maddiston girl was crowned the winner in the final yesterday held at the Beancross in Polmont, with Hayley Johnston (17) from Laurieston coming in second and 19-year-old Forth Valley College student Catie Gilvear placing third.

Nine finalists took to the stage, modelling clothes from New Look, Zuri Boutique and their own choices and answered questions from the four judges - Falkirk Herald editor Colin Hume, model Lucie Stevenson, Howgate marketing manager Margaret Foy and Couper and Co owner Graeme Hamilton.

The beauty competition, which raised money for Strathcarron Hospice, also saw entertainment from Dance Dreams Theatre School and Celine Dion impersonator Lisa Heesom with former Falkirk Football Club managing director George Craig presenting the show.

Speaking as she was announced the first ever Face of Falkirk, Kayleigh said: “I’m just really happy to have raised money for Strathcarron Hospice.”

The full story on Kayleigh’s win and pictures from the event will be in this week’s Falkirk Herald.
