Larbert businesses’ fears over parking plans

The proposed single yellow line on Larbert Main Street has businesses worried

Local businesses fear proposed parking restrictions could affect their trade.

Falkirk Council has issued an order to place waiting and parking restrictions on Main Street, Larbert.

The plans would mean motorists could not park for longer than 15 minutes between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on the road between Eastcroft Street and Foundry Loan.

However local businesses say the single yellow line could put customers off using them.

Jean Robertson, who runs PC Sandwich Bar, says many of their customers rely on being able to park outside.

She added: “Lots of our trade comes from workers who stop their van and run in for a morning roll or their lunch. None of the four businesses on this block are happy about it - the proposal will be terrible for business.”

The deadline for comments to be submitted to Falkirk Council is Thursday, April 19. Any support or opposition should be submitted in writing to them at Abbotsford House, Davids Loan, Bainsford before April 19.
