Have you got specs appeal like Carron’s Lucie?

Do you have specs appeal? Could you be the next face of Specsavers?

Last November, Lucie Stevenson (19) from Carron was named Spectacle Wearer of the Year. Now the hunt is on for someone to take the 2012 title.

The nationwide search is run by opticians Specsavers and for the fifth year, it is supporting charity Kidscape, with £1 for every eligible entry being donated, as well as the proceeds from an auction taking place at the grand final.

Every year Specsavers scours the country to find the boy or girl who looks amazing in their specs.

Johnathan Cawley, store director of Specsavers Falkirk, said: “We see so many people in the store who look absolutely fabulous in their glasses. The Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition gives us the opportunity to shout about the talent right on our doorstep who wear their specs with pride and plenty of style.”

Encouraging people to take part, Lucie said: “The past year has been a whirlwind of excitement since I won Spec Wearer of the Year. I’ve been down to London to do modelling shoots for some big high street names which is a dream come true. I even spent a month in my agency’s ‘model house’ which was an amazing experience and gave me the chance to meet new friends with the same aspirations.

“I didn’t think for a second I would win but am so glad I put that entry form in now. For anyone thinking about it, I would urge you to go for it because I can vouch for the fact it can be life-changing!”

Regional finalists will be announced in June and the grand final will be held in London in October 2012. The winner will receive a one-year modelling contract with MOT Models, a two week all inclusive holiday for two in Barbados, a £150 Specsavers designer eye care voucher, plus lots more.

The competition is open to men and women aged 16 and over who are specs wearers or wear glasses for fashion purposes.
