Thousands of people across the district took part in fundraising events for the BBC’s Children in Need appeal, helping to raise £26.7 million for charity.
The theme of this year’s appeal was spots, with many children wearing dotty clothes or taking part in spotty themed games.
Oxgang School opened a spotty cafe, selling baked good to pupils, teachers and staff while the tots at Cherry Tree Nursery in Polmont braved the rainy weather to take part in a sponsored Helix walk while wearing their pyjamas.
The staff at Blossoms coffee shop in Torwood Garden Centre, Larbert dressed up for work and urged customers to donate. Entertainer Jack High performed for customers and helped to raise an incredible ÂŁ1002 for the appeal.
Organiser Janet Alexander from the coffee shop said: “We smashed last year’s total. Everyone was just very generous and I can’t thank everyone who donated and took part enough.”
The nationwide campaign has raised more than ÂŁ26.7 million to go to good causes throughout the UK and the rest of the world to help disadvantaged children.
