Shoppers are being warned to be extra vigilant after a card skimming device was found on a town centre cash machine.

The equipment is used by con artists to access bank details and they can empty entire accounts before the fraud is uncovered. Several devices have been found on bank machines in the Falkirk area in recent months.

The latest one was found on a Royal Bank of Scotland ATM on the Falkirk High Street and is believed to have been fitted between 2-2.30 p.m. on Monday.

Police are urging anyone with information or who saw someone acting suspiciously at this time to call them on 01786 456000 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
