Falkirk burger van boss wins sign battle
RED-FACED shop bosses criticised for erecting an advertising board right in front of a burger van have admitted it is in the wrong place.
Grocery giants Lidl owned up to their mistake after being tipped off by
The Falkirk Herald.
Yesterday (Wednesday) they promised to move the giant 15ft by 12ft sign
promoting the best buys at their KemperAvenue store in Falkirk as soon as possible.
Snack bar owner Nancy Thomson complained when the giant hoarding appeared just before Christmas. She claimed sales at her hot food takeaway had slumped because it is so big it hid her trailer from view.
Nancy was worried the business she ploughed her life savings into a few years ago and depends on to make a living was on the slide when her sales started to slump.
A plea to Lidl's head office to move it fell on deaf ears and the local manager said they had permission from Falkirk Council to put
it there.
