Denny family plea: Don't let others die on this road
A HEARTBROKEN family urged people to back a campaign to upgrade the road where their parents were killed.
Jim and Anne Forbes died threemonths ago when their Vauxhall Astra was
hit by a car that crossed the carriageway of the A9 near Killiecrankie.
Now two of their daughters have spoken of how they are trying to
come to terms with the tragic events and their efforts to ensure no other families suffer in similar circumstances.
Sisters Fiona Hutton (38) and May Tennant (40) travelled to Holyrood last week to hear MSPs debate upgrading the killer road.
The A9 is Scotland's longest road, stretching for 273 miles from Falkirk to Scrabster. However, it has been the scene ofmany fatal
and serious accidents over the years. In 2010, 14 were killed, including the Forbes and John Potter (63), the driver of the Volvo which
hit the Denny couple's car.
