Decision made on new Tesco store in Camelon
SUPERMARKET bosses have ?nally been given the go-ahead to build a new Tesco store in Camelon.
The long-awaited decision will transform an eyesore site on the western approach to Falkirk – and bring 200 much-needed jobs to the area.
The proposed development was hanging in the balance
yesterday (Wednesday) until around 5 p.m. when councillors ?nally voted in favour of the application by 16 votes to 12.
They were locked in debate over whether the supermarket giant could finally be given permission to build on the former Wrangler jean factory site – 10 years after the plans were ?rst revealed.
