Princess Anne greets the crowds outside Strathcarron Hospice

Regular VIP guest Princess Anne visited Denny’s Strathcarron Hospice today to wow the crowds once again.

The Princess Royal was met by chief executive Irene McKie and spent over two hours touring the care centre meeting staff and residents.

And to the delight of primary and nursery school children who had patiently waited outside during the showers, HRH had the time later for a brief chat and to accept flowers.

The skirl of the pipes and drums of Alloa Bowmar Pipe Band led by Pipe Major Gordon Simpson welcomed Princess Anne at just after 10.30 a.m. and played throughout the morning before giving her a stirring farewell as she headed for The Falkirk Wheel just before 1 p.m. to complete the second part of her ‘whistle-stop’ tour of the district.
