Close wars break out in Grangemouth
A RESIDENT has abandoned the habits of a lifetime to make a point about the state of the stairs in his close.
Angry Andy Anderson (59) is refusing to clean the third floor landing and stairs of his building in Kersiebank Avenue, Grangemouth, until landlord Paragon Housing Association gets other tenants to toe the line.
Mr Anderson said: "It really gets me that I can't clean them. I've not cleaned them for over a year now, but for the 28 years before this I had cleaned them every single week.
"I think Paragon would just about be able to spell 'pride', but I don't think they would know what it means. They have not been doing their job.
"This close has definitely been let down by Paragon and some of the tenants here."
According to Mr Anderson, Paragon stated they were not concerned about the level of cleanliness and hygiene in the close – as long as it was tidy.
