Arches provide good view ahead of Grangemouth Children’s Day
Emma Reddie is this year's Children's Day queen
Residents young and old will take to the streets for a spot of arch hunting in Grangemouth on Friday night.
In a tradition almost as old as the town’s Children’s Day, scores of people will wander through Grangemouth on the evening before the big event to get a look at the arches created especially for this year’s Bowhouse Primary School royal entourage.
Family and friends - and on some occasions building firms - have spent the last few weeks knocking together eye-catching and imaginative designs which will hopefully draw a crowd.
You can see the arches for yourself in the following streets: Alexander Avenue, Ard Court, Bowhouse Road, Bute Place, Craigleith Road, Grampian Crescent, Hamilton Road, Hawthorn Street, Kersiebank Avenue, Lawers Place, Lennox Terrace, Merrick Way and Rodney Street.
Grangemouth Children’s Day takes place on Saturday, with processions rolling along Kingseat Avenue from around 1.30 p.m. and the crowning of Bowhouse Primary’s Emma Reddie taking place in Zetland Park just after 2.30 p.m.
