Laurieston Loyalist Flute Band is now requiring new members in all areas with no experience needed. The band meets on a Monday and Wednesday from 7.30-9.30 p.m. at the Laurieston Hall in the park.
Laurieston Spiritualist Church will have Fiona Boyle from Motherwell as guest medium for its service in the Old Folks Welfare Hall in Mary Street on Monday, November 3. Doors open 6.45 p.m., service starts 7.30 p.m. Everyone welcome.
The preacher at the 3 p.m. Sunday Gospel meeting in the Cotton Lane Gospel Hall will be Mr Sandy Laing from Cowdenbeath. Tea and biscuits will be served afterwards. Everyone is welcome.
On door duty on Sunday, November 2, are: Mrs M. Andrew, Mrs J. White, Mrs C. Park, and Mrs S. Marshall. On tea duty are: Mrs A. Gardiner, Messrs J. MacLellan, J. Christie and G. Ferguson. The flowers for this service are being donated by Joe and Christine Park. On Tuesday, November 4, the theme will be “Safety in the Home”. Next Sunday, there is a Bereavement service in Laurieston Church at 3 p.m. All welcome. Remembrance Sunday, November 9. There will be a short service at the Cenotaph at 9.30 a.m. followed by the service in church at 10 a.m. There will be a retiral collection after this service for Erskine Hospital.
There will be a concert by the Arnotdale Singers in Laurieston Church on Friday, November 7, at 7.30 p.m. Tickets are only £5 and children are free. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided at the interval. Tickets are available from Sheila Marshall, John and Jennifer Campbell and Peter Ferguson, or pay at the door on the night. All welcome.
