Congratulations and thanks to the fundraising group and others who have successfully produced a delightful cafe/small worship area in the church. This was officially opened by French Marie on Sunday morning. On door duty this Sunday are Mrs I. Strathie, Mrs J. Sherrat, Mrs J. Letham and Mrs E. Gillies. On tea duty are: Mrs A. Gardner, Messrs Christie, Ferguson and McLellan. The flowers for this service are being donated by M.Thomson. The Strathcarron Singers 11th anniversary concert takes place in the Albert Hall, Stirling on Sunday. Tickets are £10 and available from Evan Ross on 07484105196. The Church of Scotland General Assembly meets in Edinburgh from Saturday, May 16 - Friday, May 22. All the papers can be downloaded from www.gapublications.co.uk and you can watch proceedings live on the church website: www.churchofscotland.org.uk On Sunday, Heart and Soul 2015 will be held in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh from 2-6 p.m. The theme is ‘Living Stones: a celebration and exhibition of the life and work of the church’. The Muiravonside Choral Society Spring Concert takes place on Wednesday. The evening includes items from musicals, sacred music and Scottish pieces. Donations only: all proceeds will go to church funds. There will be a concert with the Sine Nomine Singers of Valdosta in St Andrew’s Parish Church, Falkirk on Tuesday, June 2 at 7 p.m. Donations to Strathcarron Hospice. Polmont Young Offenders Institution Tea Bar seek people who can spare a couple of hours to help serve teas, coffees, soft drinks and snacks to visiting family members, many of whom have distances to travel. The next event will be a fashion show which will be held in the Old Folks Hall on Friday, May 29 at 7.30 p.m. This is something new for us and we hope it will be a success. Please come along and give your support. Tickets are only £3 or pay at the door. All welcome.
The preacher at the 3 p.m. Sunday Gospel meeting in the Cotton Lane Gospel Hall is John McCulloch from New Stevenston. Tea and biscuits will be served after the meeting. Everyone is warmly welcomed.
