A great time was had by all who went on the outing to Carlisle on Tuesday, June 24. Many thanks to Asda warehouse who supplied us with rolls, etc for our picnic at Moffat. The committee hope that all our members have a lovely holiday break. The coffee mornings will resume on Thursday, August 21.
At last Sunday’s morning worship Dr Henderson reflected on Winnie the Pooh and friends comparing each individual character with the characteristics of ourselves and biblical characters. This was followed by a delicious birthday cake with tea and coffee sharing a very special birthday. On door duty on Sunday are Mrs M. Hoggan, Mrs M. Erskine, Miss M. Brown and Mr S. Arneil. On tea duty are I. Strathie, J. Sherrat, J. Letham and E. Gillies. The flowers for this service are being donated by Ann Gardiner. Martha’s Cafe takes place in Redding Church hall fortnightly over the summer. The next one will be on Tuesday at 2 p.m. The next service at Barleystone Court Nursing Home is on Wednesday, July 16, at 2 p.m. it will be led by Margaret Ross, who would appreciate other help with the singing. ‘Falkirk Presbytery’s Got Talent’ on Saturday, September 13, in Falkirk Trinity Church from 10 a.m. till 3.30 p.m. Information leaflets with details of activities and workshops are available along with booking forms which should be returned as soon as possible. £5 fee includes snack lunch.
There is an evening walk every Wednesday, just turn up at Laurieston Square for 7 p.m. and enjoy a walk around the Helix south paths. Walks are led by experienced walk leaders and we suggest that suitable footwear and clothing be worn. For further details contact Ian Wright on (01324) 636799.
Laurieston Spiritualist Church will have Gary Gray from Glasgow as guest medium for its service in the Old Folks Welfare Hall in Mary Street on Monday. Doors open 6.45 p.m., service starts 7.30 p.m. Everyone welcome.
